Cross platform parties and cosmetic rewards coming to Rocket League
- PlayStation players can play with PC friends but not Xbox One or Switch players
- The Rocket Pass will have free and paid for paths which give out extra rewards
- Rocket League no longer has a level cap and the experience curve is smoother
Massive changes are coming to Rocket League with the new Rocket Pass and cross-platform play.
Cross-platform play means you’ll be able to play with and party up with friends from other platforms as a numbered-code is added to your profile, similarly to the Battle client.
Unfortunately, the cross-platform play is limited by Sony meaning PlayStation players can only play with PC players. Meanwhile, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch players will be able to play with other and PC gamers.

Meanwhile, the Rocket Pass will reward players with cosmetic items, decryptors or exclusive in-game titles every time they level up. Psyonix are removing the level cap from the game, giving you reason to grind out the game as you try for rewards.
Psyonix are also smoothing out how much experience is needed to level up and are keeping it to a flat amount at higher levels. You’ll be guaranteed to level up after a few hours of play.
The Rocket Pass will feature an additional premium pass which costs a flat amount of 10 keys (£7.99 in the UK). The premium track will offer higher-quality rewards including painted and certified items at later stages.

With the premium pass, you’ll still earn the items from the regular pass too. There are a lot of tiers to get through meaning there are plenty of rewards on offer but each pass only lasts a few months so you’ll need to play fairly regularly to get the most out of it.
That’s where the premium pass comes in handy as it will give your account an XP boost to make sure you earn as many rewards as possible before the time limit ends.
