Dare Win job interview takes place on Fortnite
- A creative agency is using the free-to-play shooter game Fortnite to hire interns
- The interviews will take place on PlayStation Network, a client of the agency
- Applicants who are not interested in Fortnite can apply for a standard interview
Who knew Fortnite was this popular?
It seems the Epic Games build-and-shoot-em-up played by over 125 million people worldwide is now so ingrained in the cultural fabric of society that it is being used to help hire people.
Dare.Win, a creative agency, is using the free-to-play shooter game Fortnite to hire interns
‘At Dare.Win, we are currently looking for a creative team for a six months internship in Paris, starting as soon as possible,’ the company wrote on its site.
‘With us, they will be creating experiences for brands such as Spotify, PlayStation, Bacardi, YouTube or even their favorite artists and TV shows. You got it, we love entertainment, that’s why this year, we’ll pass the interview on the worldwide battle royale game: Fortnite!’
The agency then goes on to tell prospective applicants to add Dare.Win on the PlayStation Network and then they will try and schedule a game, which will be the interview.
Boris Lavergne, an agency creative, told AdAge that even though the interviewer and interviewee will be playing a video game, the ‘questions will be mostly job-related’. He did add that there will also be questions on entertainment, hobbies and life.
‘No pressure really. We’re here to meet new people and have fun doing it.’
However, potential applicants who are not great at the game needn’t worry. Another Dare.Win creative, Thomas Brouchon, said that it’s not so much about the level of skill as other factors.
‘We’re not pro players ourselves. The way someone plays can say a lot about their personality, especially about decision-making and how they deal with problems,’ he said.

Dare.Win said it picked Fortnite because it is a free-to-play game and therefore doesn’t feature many applicant limiting factors.
There’s also the upside of PlayStation being a brand new client of the agency.
However, creatives who are not interested in the game shouldn’t be put off, the company is offering standard interviews to applicants who don’t want to play the game. They simply have to email IDontPlayFortnite@darewin.fr.
