Everyone’s going to die a lot faster in Destiny 2 now, thanks to boosted TTK. Bungie has confirmed that you can expect time to kill to be a lot faster in the Crucible going forward, leading to speedier, more deadly action across the board in PvP.
The potential changes were first noted over on Reddit, where user tripleWRECK noted that in some new Forsaken gameplay footage, auto rifles have seen a damage boost that works out to roughly 24%. That brings the weapons in line with their counterparts from the original Destiny, knocking time to kill all the way down to under a second.
Make sure you’re playing the best PC games.
You can see the specific numbers on Reddit, but the details are certainly subject to change. In the latest edition of This Week at Bungie, senior sandbox designer Jon Weisnewski confirms that “a global lethality pass on weapons and abilities” is in the works. “I’m here to quickly confirm that, along with weapon slots and ammo availability, we have globally adjusted the ‘time to kill’ in the Crucible.”
It sounds like these changes are scheduled for deployment alongside the Destiny 2: Forsaken release date, though we’ll get more details as part of the ‘year two combat reveal stream’ on August 7.
Some of Forsaken’s coolest quality of life features will actually be coming a bit sooner than the expansion itself, launching a week early on August 28. Biggest of all is the new weapon slot system, which lets you put any gun into any slot. The pre-patch update will also include the new director, Heroic story missions, bulk shader deletion, and 200 additional vault slots.
