What game modes will be played at All-Star?
This will be a 3v3 best of three series between the Atlantic and Pacific divisions. They’ll be playing standard Lucioball settings on the new Busan Lubioball Arena map.
Each match will last five minutes, and if there’s a tie then the next goal will win.
This will be a 6v6 Mystery Heroes match using standard competitive settings in a best of three series on control maps Ilios, Lijiang Tower, and Nepal.
Each player is assigned a random hero every time they spawn, so it often comes down to luck. However these players should have the skill to perform well on just about any hero.
This one should be a true test of skill, particularly for the DPS players in each squad.
The coaches of the Pacific and Atlantic divisions will be selecting their four best Widowmakers, who will be competing head to head in a mini tournament where the first to five eliminations wins, until there’s one champion from each division.
The two champions will then face off in the final, which will be first to seven eliminations.
Eliminations can only be achieved by headshot, and automatic firing of Widowmaker’s gun will be disabled. There are no capture points, but after 30 seconds the player locations will be revealed. If there’s no winner after five minutes it will be called a draw.
The maps played will be Castillo (quarterfinals), Necropolis (semifinals), and Ecopoint: Antarctica (final).
Pine will be looking forward to the 1v1 Widowmaker tournament, he’s known for his hitscan
The Atlantic and Pacific division coaches will be drafting two teams of casters and analysts. They’ll then battle in a 6v6 best of three series using standard competitive settings.
The first map will be King’s Row, and the loser of that map gets to choose the second. If there’s a tie after two games, Lucioball will be the tiebreaker with the same rules as above.
Overwatch League players will be calling the game along with the casters and analysts who aren’t playing.
The All-Star Game
The format for the All-Star game will be 6v6 using standard competitive settings. The two teams will play a full five map match, and all 18 players in the squads must play at least one map. Subs can only be made between maps.
The map pool is: King’s Row, Rialto, Horizon Lunar Colony, Route 66, and Ilios.
