The much anticipated FIFA 18 ratings refresh has finally happened, as the folks at EA Sports have given some upgrades to some of football’s most deserving players in the game.
Of course, everyone has their own opinions about who should be getting new stats in Ultimate Team, even footballing legends like Rio Ferdinand.
Before the ratings went live, Ferdinand sat down with YouTuber and Hashtag United captain Spencer Owen, as well as Opta Joe stat-man Duncan Alexander to discuss who should be getting a boost.

Rio Ferdinand has plenty of opinions when it comes to which footballers deserve an upgrade
The trio went from back to front, starting with the goalkeepers, followed by the defenders, midfielders and forwards.
A number of players were in contention for each position, but they had to whittle them down to just one.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, current Manchester United players were given a big focus by Ferdinand, with the final selections containing three United players, and just one other player, from rivals Manchester City.
From the goalkeeping options of David De Gea, Thibaut Courtois, and Hugo Lloris, Spencer Owen warned that De Gea was already the most popular pick in FIFA, and an upgrade would make things even worse.
But Ferdinand was keen to see the 90-rated Man United man get an upgrade, saying that he’s currently the best keeper in the world.
In the defender position, they had a few more options to choose from, but ultimately ending up going for Ashley Young.
Young’s FIFA rating has regressed in recent years, but as a defender he’s apparently found a new role to succeed in.
The choices stayed red in midfield, as Owen, Ferdinand, and Alexander went for Paul Pogba for an upgrade.
It was only in the forwards that they deviated to the other side of Manchester, as they selected Raheem Sterling for the step up.
Each of their choices turned out to be great predictions too, as all four of them received upgrades in the update yesterday.
David De Gea went from 90 to 91, Ashley Young went from 75 to 77, Paul Pogba went from 87 to 88, and Raheem Sterling went from 82 to 84.
