In a departure from the way EA Sports usually reveals the Team of the Season, this year’s is being revealed slowly via a sort of real world game.
The starting XI players for the Premier League FIFA 18 TOTS are apparently hiding in locations around the country.
Fans can follow visual clues on the EA Sports website to find and unveil each player throughout the day.
There’s a map showing the general area and a livestream of the precise location for each player
So far, Manchester United shot stopper David De Gea has been revealed as the first TOTS player. An obvious choice, considering the season he’s had. His card has 96 diving, 99 reflexes, 93 handling, 72 speed, 94 kicking, and 93 positioning.
He was found very quickly in what looked like a Manchester branch of GAME, as shown on the TOTSWATCH #1 livestream.
The second player, Kyle Walker, was also found in Manchester. He’s got 96 pace, 86 dribbling, 74 shooting, 91 defending, 90 passing, and 91 physical.
More clues for the rest of the team will be revealed throughout the day. It appears there will be a goalkeeper, three defenders, four midfielders, and three forwards, and they’ll be revealed in that order.
There have been some reported leaks of the full Team of the Season already, although who is in the first XI, the substitutes, and the reserves has not been confirmed.
The rumoured Premier League Team of the Season is as follows:
Goalkeepers: David De Gea, Nick Pope
Defenders: Cesar Azpilicueta, Ashley Young, Kyle Walker, Jan Vertonghen, Nicolas Otamendi, Ben Davies
Midfielders: Fernandinho, Christian Eriksen, Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva, Dele Alli, Son Heung-Min, Nemanja Matic, Riyad Mahrez
Forwards: Sergio Aguero, Romelu Lukaku, Leroy Sane, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Harry Kane, Sadio Mane
If these prove to be correct, we can expect some more clues to be pointing towards Manchester, Liverpool, and London later today.
