EA Sports have revealed 54 Path To Glory players in FIFA 18, who are all vying for a spot in their national team in this summer’s World Cup.
Once the official squads have been announced, players who made their country’s team will have their PTG Contender item upgraded to a PTG Selected item, which will continue to get upgrades based on their performances in the tournament.
So, who’s been performing the best this season, and who has the best chance of making it to the World Cup? The players below are your best bets for a top World Cup Ultimate Team squad.
Emil Forsberg is certainly going to make Sweden’s World Cup squad after playing 618 minutes
BetStars have conducted the research to find the 10 most likely PTG players to feature in this year’s World Cup.
In terms of minutes played in international matches so far this season, Sweden’s Emil Forsberg is top of the list, with 618 minutes across eight games. Brazil’s Gabriel Jesus ranks second with 583 minutes, and Spain’s Thiago Alcantara is third with 490 minutes played.
Two more Spaniards, Isco and Marco Asensio, and two more Brazilians, Willian and Marquinhos, are in the top 10. England’s Marcus Rashford and Ryan Bertrand are there too, with 481 minutes and 369 minuted played respectively, as well as France’s Olivier Giroud with 393 minutes.
All these players are likely to increase in value in Ultimate Team once the squads are announced. Marcus Rashford has already gone up in price from 55,000 coins to 175,000 after appearing in the Team of the Week this season.
On the other hand, you should definitely avoid the following PTG players, who didn’t get a single minute of playing time in international matches this year: Benedikt Howedes, Renato Sanchez, Jermain Defoe, and Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Other PTG players who didn’t get much playing time and probably won’t be featuring too much at the World Cup include Jordan Lukaku, Divock Origi, Jurgen Damm, Dimiti Payet, Javier Pastore, and Danny Welbeck.
If you’re looking to sell any of these players, get it done now before their price drops.
