Fortnite has just now added new items to the game in celebration of Shark Week on television
Specifically, a ‘Chomp Sr.’ outfit and a ‘Chomp Jr.’ pickaxe costing 2,000 and 1,500 V-Bucks respectively are now available in-game.
Additionally, a new ‘On the Hook’ emote costing 500 V-Bucks has also been made available for players, which allows characters to reel in sharks and show them off.
All of the Shark Week-themed items are merely cosmetic and won’t give any gameplay advantages to the players who use them.
What is Fortnite?
Fortnite is an action-shooter video game published and developed by Epic Games that boasts a player base that includes more than 125 million people across the world.
The game’s popular battle royale mode, which sees 100 players battle it out to determine the last one standing, has revolutionized the gaming industry in recent months.
An Android version of the hit video game is also reportedly under development and expected to be released sometime in the near future.
The Shark Week-themed items in the game certainly aren’t Fortnite’s first foray into real world pop culture. The game added the ability to play as Avengers: Infinity War villain Thanos earlier in 2018 to tie into the blockbuster movie.
