Fortnite season 6 trailer
The new trailer for the Fortnite season 6 Battle Pass was uploaded to Epic Games’s social media accounts on September 27, offering a glimpse into what it offers for gamers.
Fortnite season 6 Battle Pass
The Battle Pass will once again cost 950 V-Bucks ($9.99 in the U.S. and £7.99 in the UK) and offer more than 100 rewards, including new skins and various cosmetic changes.
A new Epic Games blog post detailed some of the specifics for the upcoming Battle Pass, saying: ‘New Season, new Battle Pass. 100 levels, over 100 new rewards. Available in-game right now for 950 V-Bucks.’
‘Season 6 arrives in Battle Royale and brings new goodies with it!
‘Uncover what’s in the new Battle Pass, explore an updated island with Pets, and become one with the shadows with a new consumable.
‘Join in on the Cram Session mini-event in Save the World and learn more about a new enemy that has appeared from the Storm.’
WHAT ARE FORTNITE BATTLE PASSES?
Fortnite offers its players powerful new weapon upgrades and new outfits as rewards, some of which can be earned by completing challenges.
But the game’s rarest loot comes from optional premium Battle Passes, which grant players better quality items for each season’s reward tiers.
None of the prizes impact your chances in-game, as they are purely cosmetic.
Battle Passes are paid for with in-game credits, called V-Bucks, purchased with real world money.
One season’s Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks, with 1,000 V-Bucks costing £7.99 ($9.99).
However, it’s also possible to buy each season’s reward tiers individually for 150 V-bucks, which unlocks their game-play immediately.
If you were to do this for each of the season’s 100 tiers, this would cost around £120 ($150).
Fortnite season 6 skins
Per Forbes, a number of new skins are now available for season 6 and are generally tied together with a Halloween theme.
Two of the possible skins glimpsed in teaser image on Epic Games’s social media accounts have indeed been confirmed as implemented in the new season.
The cowgirl skin has been revealed as Calamity, a likely reference to the legendary 19th-century frontierswoman Calamity Jane. The DJ-themed skin with a robotic llama helmet has also been revealed as DJ Yonder.
Sure to be one of the most popular skins is the new Dire skin, which transforms into a snarling werewolf much like the shape-shifting Ragnarok skin from season 5.
Other skins currently available include the tomato-headed and black-clad Nightshade skin, the frightening Dusk skin, the horse-riding Giddy-Up skin and the Fable skin, which bears a strong resemblance to a stereotypical Little Red Riding Hood.
Fortnite season 6 rewards
In addition to the numerous new cosmetic skins introduced for season 6, a number of other rewards have also been introduced with the new Battle Pass.
The most notable addition to the game are Pets, which reportedly are named Scales, Camo and Bonesy. Described as ‘passive companions,’ they won’t give players any advantages competitively but will instead serve as fun companions that can tag along with players during the game.
In addition, other rewards also include three pickaxes, five emotes, four back blings, four gliders, 14 sprays and more.
Gamespot has compiled a full visual list of all the new Battle Pass skins and rewards here.

Both developed and published by Epic Games, the game was released in July 2017 while its wildly-popular battle royale mode was introduced in September 2017. The mode features clashes involving 100 players that mix traditional shooter gameplay with elements from survival and fortress building games.
