It was the first time Germany failed to make the knockout stages since 1938 while possibly one of South Korea’s biggest victories on the world stage.
To celebrate the incredible triumph, EA Sports have handed FIFA 18 World Cup Ultimate Team upgrades to the two goalscorers Young-Gwon Kim and Tottenham Hotspurs’ Heung-Min Son – with the latters’ card being particularly impressive.
EA Sports have released the latest batch of upgrades for FIFA 18 Ultimate Team World Cup
Son’s goal gave South Korea a historic win over Germany, eliminating the world champions
Son was able to give Korea a second goal in the 97th minute as his teammate Se-Jong Joo dispossessed an out of position Manuel Neuer and sent a phenomenal long pass to give Son the easy tap-in.
Now Son has been bumped up two ratings to an 85 and his new stats are phenomenal. The winger has always been popular amongst FIFA players due to his four-star skills and five-star weak-foot and now he has the stats to back those up.
With 89 pace, 91 dribbling, 90 shooting and 82 passing, Son will cause any defence plenty of problems. His best in-game stats are 93 long shots and dribbling, meaning he’s the perfect impact sub for Ultimate Team.
Also receiving an upgrade is Brazil centre-back and captain, Thiago Silva after his goal sealed Brazil a win over Serbia and took them to first place in Group E. Now 87-rated, the PSG man has 90 defending and 82 physicality.
