Imagine Dragons have become the latest music act to make their way into the esports industry by partnering with agency ReKTGlobal.
Lead guitarist Wayne Sermon and drummer Daniel Platzman are ‘longtime gamers and avid fans of esports’ according to the press release. As a result, the two of them have become investment partners with ReKTGlobal.
On top of that, the two of them have joined DJ and Electronic House producer Steve Aoki as co-owners of Las Vegas based esports team, Rogue.

This isn’t the first time the band have been involved in esports. Back in 2014, they performed live in South Korea as part of the League of Legends World Championship final. The band also wrote the song ‘Warriors’ for the tournament.
Imagine Dragons manager Mac Reynolds says the band have always had a strong interest in the industry: ‘We love gaming and esports have been looking for new ways to contribute to this community for a long time—but we never found the right fit until now.

‘We expect to see esports continue its rapid growth internationally, and we think Rogue and ReKTGlobal are the partners who will help make our hometown of Las Vegas the premiere team and gaming event destination.’
Rogue were acquired by ReKT Global back in January this year and announced their intent of signing teams in Overwatch and LoL in addition to their already formed CS:GO, Rocket League, H1Z1, Vainglory, and Rainbow Six Siege teams.
