Knicks Gaming almost didn’t make it to the postseason. They regular season record wasn’t good enough, but they managed to win THE TICKET tournament, securing them a playoff berth.
Going in as serious underdogs, Knicks just kept winning, and have now secured New York its first basketball championship since 1973, despite it not being played on an actual court.

Knicks Gaming outscored their opponents Heat Check, in part thanks to a strong defense. Nate Kahl was able to lock down Juan ‘Hostshot’ Gonzalez, who has been living up to his name this season, averaging 50.3 points per game coming into the finals.
Kahl held him to 44 points in game one and just 38 points in game two, and also managed to hit some important three-pointers. Along with the win with his team, Kahl also picked up the finals MVP award.
Heat Check put in good performances in both games, despite the loss. Dayvon ‘Goofy757’ Curry was trying to emulate his real-life Curry namesake and keep his team on top. In game two he grabbed 18 points and 12 rebounds in the comeback victory.
The winning Knicks team consisted of Marc ‘XKPMR’ Rodriguez, Eric ‘YEYNotGaming’ Ward, Dayvon ‘Goofy757’ Curry, Nathaniel ‘NateKahl’ Kahl, Idris ‘Idrisdagoat6’ Richardson, and Adam ‘iamadamthe1st’ Kudeimati. Their head coach is Kyle Rudy.
The first season of the NBA 2K League involved 17 real life NBA teams who signed 102 players in a draft earlier this year after a lengthy tryout and combine process.
Four more teams have been added so far for the next season, taking the total to 21. They are the Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Lakers, and Minnesota Timberwolves.
