- The legendary goalkeeper will livestream on Twitch and YouTube on Friday 13
- Gianluigi Buffon appears in the World of Tanks game as a playable tank captain
- This follows on from the likes of Dele Alli livestreaming his Fortnite gameplay
Buffon, who appears as a character in the game, will stream live to the world on Friday July 13 at 9pm BST.
New PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon will livestream himself playing World of Tanks online
Earlier this year, Buffon revealed he would be playable as a tank captain in the game – joining in an update which added 11 new vehicles to the game.
It’s a bizarre partnership but World of Tanks’ Director Anton Pankov says it’s makes sense: ‘Whether you’re 15 vs 15 in our game or 11 vs 11 in football, it’s all about teamwork.
‘You need a good head on your shoulders because the right strategy and tactics are crucial to securing victory. It’s this core that makes teaming up with the legendary Buffon a natural fit in celebrating Italian tanks.’
This follows on from the trend of football players such as Dele Alli livestreaming themselves playing Fortnite on Twitch. The Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder has been seen playing online with his England teammates Harry Kane and Harry Maguire.
Fortnite is a craze that took over the world and the England squad was no exception to that. Jesse Lingard performed a dance found in Fortnite after scoring at the World Cup while Kane played over 100 matches in Russia.
