Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate become the first ever NXT UK superstars in a game as they are confirmed for WWE 2K19
- The WWE United Kingdom championship was already in last year’s WWE 2K18
- Dunne and Bate are the only two superstars to have ever held the WWE UK title
- Bate’s tag team partner Trent Seven from Moustache Mountain wasn’t included
At Insomnia63 gaming festival during the NXT UK show in the NEC Arena, it was revealed that WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne and fellow British Strong Style member Tyler Bate will both appear in WWE 2K19.
This is the first time either of the pair have appeared in a video game. The news was announced by Xavier Woods, owner of popular gaming YouTube channel Up Up Down Down and one third of the Smackdown tag team champions, New Day.
The United Kingdom Championship was already a winnable title in WWE 2K18 so it’s only right that the only two men to have ever held the title were included into the game.

WWE United Kingdom champion Pete Dunne will make his video game debut in WWE 2K19
Joining Dunne is fellow NXT UK star Tyler Bate who is a former UK and NXT tag team champion
Dunne is the longest reigning WWE UK champion ever and has currently held the title for an incredible 466 days. He won the title from Bate at NXT TakeOver Chicago in 2017.
Bate became the first ever WWE UK champion after defeating Dunne in the final of the inaugural WWE United Kingdom Tournament at just 19 years of age – making him only the second ever teenager to win a WWE title (Rene Dupree being the first.)
Bate also recently held the NXT tag team titles with his mentor Trent Seven after defeating Undisputed Era’s Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong. However, it doesn’t look like Bate’s Moustache Mountain partner will appear in the game.
Earlier this year, Dunne and Bate both argued their cases for inclusion in 2K19. Dunne’s statement was typically short and straight to the point: ‘I’ve held that UK title for well over a year. The Bruiserweight and the United Kingdom championship go hand in hand. That’s why I should be in the game.’
Bate on the other hand was annoyed that some of his moves, like ‘Bop and Bang’, were already in the game while he wasn’t and labelled the snub ‘an insult.’ Now his full move set including the Tyler driver and airplane spin will feature in the game and he couldn’t be happier:
‘In such a short time in WWE I have experienced so many incredible moments, becoming the first ever WWE United Kingdom Champion, NXT Tag Team Champion and now I can add being featured in WWE 2K19 to that list.
‘Kane has always been a hero of mine, and I can’t wait to match the Big Strong Boi against the Big Red Machine and see who comes out on top. There’s a lot of dream matches to be made, and I’m excited for the fans to see who they put me up against.’
Dunne was just as pleased saying: ‘Being in a WWE2K game is a bucket list goal for every sports entertainer. Especially for me as I spent so many hours on WWE games as a kid, it’s a dream come true.’
