Overwatch Anniversary plans LEAKED… all event skins will return and Junkrat has a new pirate outfit
- The Brazilian Overwatch Twitter account accidentally leaked a promo video
- May 22nd will see the Anniversary event with all of event specific skins returning
- There also appears to be new items as the video shows a pirate skin for Junkrat
It looks like the next Overwatch event is close, in fact it may only be just over a week away. The Brazilian Overwatch Twitter account accidentally leaked a video last night which reveals Blizzard’s plans for the Anniversary event.
The event, which celebrates the game’s release, will apparently arrive May 22 and like last year will bring a swarm of rare items.
Last year’s anniversary event introduced over 100 new cosmetic items but this year, it appears we’ll have a chance to pick up old items we may have missed as the promo video says all event items will return.
A leaked video has shown the Anniversary event will be back and will see all event skins return
This means that skins from events such as Halloween, Summer Games, Winter Wonderland and Lunar New Year will all be made available again.
However, it isn’t yet known whether these items will be available to buy or if you’ll have to be lucky with loot boxes.
On top of that, it does also appear that there will be new items as well. The promo video shows Junkrat and Roadhogg dancing while wearing old skins. Halfway through, Junkrat appears in a pirate costume which we haven’t seen before.
The video also appears to show a new pirate-themed skin for Junkrat as part of the event
No pricing details have been revealed for the new pirate Junkrat skin but it’s a safe bet that it will probably be a legendary, as is the case with most event skins.
Last year’s anniversary event also gave users a free loot box for every day you logged in. Whether Blizzard will do something similar for this year remains to be seen but with the event’s launch date, it shouldn’t be long before we’re given the full details.
