Riot tease two new champs plus Nunu, Ezreal, Morgana and Kayle updates
- Riot Games have revealed their plans with this year’s final Champion Roadmap
- The next two champions will be a colourful mage and a fearsome individual
- Nunu’s large-scale rework isn’t far away, his kit will reflect his whimsical nature
League of Legends is a game that never slows down and Riot have revealed that there’s plenty of new changes to still look forward to with their final Champion Roadmap of the year.
This year hasn’t seen as many new champions released as Riot have instead focused on updating old champions both visually and in their gameplay to bring them up to modern standards.
However, Riot have teased two new champions who we will hopefully see soon. We were given very little detail on one of them who appears to be a frightening person or beast locked away. The other will be a colourful mage who Riot says isn’t far away.

The other new champion will be a colourful mage who isn’t too far away from being revealed
Unfortunately those are all the details Riot have given us for now but they did give us more clues about upcoming reworks. Mainly, the big update to Nunu which was revealed in the last Roadmap.
Nunu’s update will very soon be released but there’s one major part of the champion which ins’t changing, his ultimate. Riot REAV3 says that Absolute Zero is a high impact ability which is already popular with players.
The only issue with his ult is landing it but Riot have promised the rest of his kit will help him set up the move and create more room to make plays. Those plays will hopefully be creative and hilarious according to Riot who have aimed to showcase Nunu’s whimsical nature.
However, Nunu will still primarily be a jungler who focuses on objective control as he will also be keeping his Consume ability.
Nunu’s rework is close to release, he’ll keep Consume and Absolute Zero but will be more fun
Meanwhile, Riot are also planning a major update to sisters Kayle and Morgana. Riot will be updating both champions with a new joint theme which ties both of their narratives together, giving fans a more detailed look into their lore.
Both champions will also be receiving gameplay updates although Morgana is already in a healthy state so we will probably only see changes to her passive and W. Kayle on the other hand will be reworked from the ground up.
Riot will be keeping her identity as a melee and ranged hybrid but as a match progresses, the idea will be be that she’ll become a long-ranged powerhouse in the late game. Riot August is the man in charge of these updates but we won’t be seeing them until next year, more details will be revealed in the next Roadmap scheduled for early 2019.

And finally, Riot have revealed that Ezreal will be receiving some nice cosmetic changes. He will receive a huge visual update with brand new models and animations.
On top of that, Ezreal will also receive a new voice over which will hopefully include classic lines such as ‘You belong in a museum.’ Riot will probably bring back his original voice actor Kyle Hebert, known as the voice of Dragon Ball Z’s Gohan and Street Fighter’s Ryu, as he recently recorded the updated VO for Pulsefire Ezreal.
Riot are more than happy with Ezreal’s gameplay but admitted that many fans don’t appreciate his W, Essence Flux. We will see this ability updated but we don’t know whether it will be a completely new move or just an updated version.
